This book is a beautiful photo essay of the rugged and scenic mountains of Southern California that provide a backdrop to the valleys where so many people live. These mountains contain hundreds if not thousands of miles of trails, raging streams and rivers, placid lakes, desert palm oases and hot springs, abundant wildlife, green meadows and forests, and countless recreation opportunities. The authors did a great job describing the varied landscape and illustrating it with amazing photographs. Definitely should be on the coffee table of any Southern Californian who loves the outdoors!

Wonderful Book
Not many people think of mountains when they think of Southern California... but they should! This book does a good job of explaining why :)
