This shirt is only one feature away from true base-layer perfection - it only lacks odor inhibitors of some sort. Nonetheless, it's available in cool, cool white and it's UPF 50+! It's THE shirt to wear for mountaineering endeavors as a sun block when the temperature up high soars but the sun is too bright to leave any skin exposed.
It's stretchy enough to wear a little small and still has long enough sleeves with stretch to articulate well. I'm clearly a size medium at 5'8", 160lbs but a size small stretches to fit perfectly (admittedly, I found the medium loose enough in the arms that the sleeves tended to slide instead of stretch when reaching high).
It's annoyingly expensive for a baselayer, but for use around camp on hot days on trips when you expect to be cold, it really can't be beat. Now I just need a nice stretchy white balaclava to match...
