PCT from Mill Creek Summit
Didn't bother to check the weather--was so sunny in L.A.--big surprise at Mill Creek though when I finally got there around noon. Cold wind, snow higher up, and me in shorts. So changed into spare capris I luckily had in the Jeep. Bagged the trail for the road on the return, as I'd had enough of postholing in the crusty snow near the top. Tagged Granite Mountain on the way back. Fun day.
With Pat. Who managed to get lost somehow. Spent the night on the summit - no flashlight needed... LA lights plenty

beautiful hike after the rains
Beautiful hike up the PCT and down the road. Loved the summit block. Here are my GPS tracks for downloading. Below is my video of my 4th class ascent of the Mount Pacifico summit block.

Nice Rocks on Top
Did it from Sulphur Springs in combo with Bare. Saw a bee swarm near the top, awesome sound.
One of my favorite hikes in the San Gabriels when I lived in the area, I did this many times in many seasons, spring always seemed the best time of year to do it though. Nice peak with nice views.
This is a great hiking mountain where you can almost always see all types of wildlife. I usually climb along the ridge after hitting the fire road at 3.5 miles. I hike this about once per month and rarely see anyone on it.

Nice CampgroundVery nice small campground. Spent my b-day there with Rob, Kris and Barbara. The summit block is amusing. Anyone know what's with the pipe?
