Bring some whiskey for the burn...
I've summited this peak before. It was easier when the snow was still in big patches above the first meadows. Less route finding & glissading down helped.
Took my wife up today. We hit the summit in 3.5 hours (give or take a few minutes). We felt the burn. Luckily, we had some drinks to sooth that burn on the summit. It gets hot quick on the summit during midday, but there was a great breeze. The trail is in good condition, but playing guess which goat path to take was today's game.
Always make sure to put away all belongings in your car due to break-ins.

Painted Mountain
Great mountain - I think I will add this one to my list of regulars. Done as part of the 'Painted Traverse'.

Decent Views
This had some pretty decent views of the Mountain Loop Highway.
This is a great one!!! Not technical and straight to the point. Goes Up and Up. Didn't do Skalabats. That would have been a long day with a 9am start.

Great in winter!
This is a great winter climb! Beautiful views into the Glacier peak wilderness, surrounding Monte Cristo Peaks and Sloan. Wonderfully fun glissades and a good workout to boot. Crampons were needed in the woods after 3,400' (it was weird -- like a glacier with trees on it.) Bright sunshine and good company. I loved this trip!

Great summit
This was a really fun trip with Gimpilator. Even though the bugs were bad on the summit they were even worse at the lake below where we stopped for a swim on our way down.
This one was more scenic than I expected. The changing terrain kept it interesting at we ascended. I had a broken arm so I could only use one trekking pole. The temperatures were in the 90's so I made use of a couple of left-over snow patches by filling up a bag and then loaded my hat again and again. After the summit, Bryan and I bushwhacked down to Ruby lake for a cold dip.
