Great light... I wonder if there are persons in there right part of the photo. What´s the (maybe iron) construction on the crag in the right part of the photo?

Re: Great lightYes, below the crack and on top of the ridge are some climbers. It is "Tschierfeckwandl", the crux on the normal route. I´am a few minutes away.

I don't think...enough has been said about those great trousers. They are almost cooler than the long ice route behind you. :D

Re: I don't think...Yes, I want to do it too! You'd want to start well before dawn and get half the wall below you before any sun loosens rocks. You couldn't pitch it all out, you'd need to simul-climb. Based on my Wildspitze Nordwand experience, if it is really all "blankeis", then that would be very difficult to do.

Re: I don't think...The Ortler North Face has good conditions very often. Blank ice isn´t very common there.
