Nice Summit

Smoke from Canada couldn't ruin the view.

third of three for the day  Sucess!

Took an hour and forty minutes to reach this summit from Couchsachraga. Had to cross a bog but since I had already taken a dip earlier and it rained for an hour it wasn't a big deal. Total day was ten hours and forty minutes.

#28/46 Panther Peak  Sucess!

Panther's bald peak provided the best views of the day IMHO. I really will consider going back here in the future to spend more time on the summit.

Panther Peak  Sucess!

Summited Panther Peak 4442' during a weekend backpacking trip. Our group stayed at the Santanoni Lean-To after the hike in hiking a few miles on Friday, we summited all 3 peaks of the Santanoni Range on Saturday under excellent weather, stayed the night again and turned in on Sunday morning. The heard paths are in good shape, but they are muddy as can be and can be difficult to navigate.

Panther Peak  Sucess!

Climbed with Santanoni via Duck Hole Trail from Tahawus. Lots of mud for almost all of the hike. Times Square was almost entirely underwater even on this sunny day. The views from Panther's rocky summit made up for it though.

From Times Square  Sucess!

Hiked late in the day and didn't spend much time at the top in order to get back down before sunset. Lots of sunshine made for a lovely day. #29/46

Tons of Snow

We caught up with two other groups and assisted the pounding out of snow (occasionally chest high) up to Time Square. Then we turned around. It was a cold, but it progressed into a nice day with increasing spots of sun. About 11 people have been through as of today. So, there you have it. A nicely packed trail awaits you to summit and pack down the ridges to Couch and Santanoni. E-mail me if you do - I'll follow right behind.
