Great hike
A nice hike with my family. Great views, good exercise and we met my parents at the top. Impressive to have a road get up so high in Oregon. Lots of Clarkâs Nutcrackers which are a fun bird to hear and see.

Snowy
Went up the summit trail. About 1/2 mile after turn from parking lot it was all snow. Nothing needed other than mountaineering boots and either following tracks or waypoints, but trail was covered.

Paulina Peak in the rain
Very steep in some sections but overall not too difficult. Well worth the effort for the views, including the overview of Big Obsidian Flow. That alone is worth the hike!

Another One Done
Started at the trailhead. Sign said 2 miles to summit. I always hate summits with parking lots and people that drive to the summit.
I planned this hike the year before, when 3 ft of snow fell in aa day and the road was closed.Totaly forgot that you could drive to the top and was very surprised to see little kids near the summit.

Great side trip
The road certainly didn't stop a steady stream of summer vacationers from coming up here. Neat views at the top, but wildfire smoke and thunderstorm humidity cut down on visibility. I can imagine this would've been a fantastic summit had no road been constructed.

interesting area to visit at least once. Views of the two lakes in the caldera are good. The obsidian flow in the area is also worst checking out
