Amazing ridgeline scrambling with so much variety of types of challenges. Hit definite class 4 and I'd say short sections of low 5 as well. (Couldn't find the register, but I didn't search super hard. Think I found the remains of Deb's old cairn.) Continued along western ridgeline before descending towards Treasure Lakes. Descent down Treasure Lakes basin is a huge PITA talus slog.
Wrote a bit of a beta-heavy trip report for anyone who wants more details. That said, sometimes more fun to go in blind. https://lawrenzo.com/p/22-trapezoid-peak

NE Ridge
Insanely fun mile long ridge of Class "whatever you want." Staying as true to the ridge as possible gave me a good ride of Class 4 and low 5th. No register on summit, so I built an annoyingly large cairn. Loved it!

NE Ridge
The northeast ridge was fun. My descent of the northwest face was not. There's now a register on the summit, as well as a register on the highpoint of the ridge.
5h10m car-to-car.

Hurd -> Trap -> Johnson
Day 6 of the 2008 Sierra Challenge. Climbed the East Face of Hurd in the morning with Brice W, then traversed to Trapezoid via the South Ridge of Hurd and Trapezoid's NE Ridge (the South Ridge was a better scramble). Met up with Adam J on Trapezoid and traversed the crest to Johnson. Fun day. Trip Report

NE Ridge
2008 Sierra Challenge. Great scrable up the NE ridge. Took less than three hours from South Lake to get to the summit this way. Nice views. Then went on to climb Johnson.

NE Ridge
From Long Lake I climbed the east facing ridgeline NE. of Trapezoid in photo #2 of the images page.It looks like a pyramid peak from Long Lake but it's actually just a long ridge line that connects to Trapezoid. The ridgeline is a great cl 3 climb. Keep traversing and eventually you come to a spot you can exit the ridge.From there it's a short traverse reaching the 3/4 point of the North chute of Trapezoid. There was a small metal film cannister with a few names in it on Trapezoid
Route Climbed: Northwest face Date Climbed: June 10, 2004
Fine weather all the way. With all the snow on the ascent, you'd think there'd be plenty of snow on top. No such luck. Camped on the summit. What a treat to just sit back in the sun and watch the sun go down!
