Ran/hiked up via a variety of trails and 4X roads on the south side. Started from where McCarran crosses the Truckee river on the west side of town.

Peavine with snow
Fun, easy climb. There was up to 3 feet of firm snow, good for kicking steps. The views are fabulous.

Hiked up with Kalua, long mostly road hike, he posted trip report, worth doin once, past that I suggest driving it if you want the view.

Off-road ascent
Fun hike, and slightly amusing watching all of the bikes and trucks getting stuck in the snow during our descent.
