Pedida de la lluvia / Asking for rain ceremony, Chicabal Volcano

Laguna Chicabal is a sacred lake in the village (San Martin Sacatepequez) I lived as a Peace Corps Volunteer. The 'traje' that the man is wearing is typical of the village. Around 200 men still wear the traditional traje on a daily basis. Please check out this site, www.globalizeit.org/PEACE/ where we are trying to get these shirts worn all over the world!

San Martin Sac

One of the very few places where the men still wear ropa tipica. Nice.
