Peerless
After Sheridan. This is a 'funny' summit. Windy day.

Still, a Mighty 13-er
Looking down from Horseshoe Mountain's summit, Peerless Mountain looked like a short brown bump. That's one way to look at it. Another way is that it is a mighty 13-er with its own page in Summitpost! So we bagged it on the way down, an easy add from the path back from Horseshoe.

The "two" in a two-fer
Made the short scramble up Peerless as an add-on to hiking up Horseshoe Mountain. Well worth it if you're in the vicinity.

Peerless
Some 14ers.com members and I decided to climb Horseshoe Mountain. I didn't sleep at all the prior night and was not feeling well, so early in the morning I decided to take an alternate route. I walked up the mining track to near Mount Sheridan before cutting across to the Sheridan/Peerless Saddle. I then went over the summit of Peerless Mountain and to the summit of Horseshoe Mountain.
When I reached the summit of Horseshoe Mountain, there was one other person waiting on top. The others were still climbing the Boudoir Couloir. After meeting the rest of the climbers, I spent a while on time before gissading down the couloir. It was a fast ride down.
The rest of the descent went well, but I didn't bring snowshoes so there was quite a bit of post-holing.

Peerless and Horseshoe
Skiied Boudoir Col. Parked along road between Sherman parking area and Leavick Mine. Ascended to saddle between Peerless and HS. Quickly went up Peerless, then up to HS. Met two guys, both named Alex, and skied the col with them. It had avalanched maybe the day prior or the day prior to that. Long slide path and wide debris field. Appears to have swept about 5 inches of soft wet snow with it. About 10 minutes after we skied it, we were boot packing it by the upper lake and another big slide happened from a high snowfield north of the major cliff bands. It sounded like a giant gust of wind.

Very windy, only a couple of people on 14er Sherman, otherwise completely alone on this hike.

I hiked 7 13ers and one fourteener. A great all day trip. Started at Leavick mining site. Hihed Horseshoe Mountain, Finnback Knob, Horseshoe Mountain again, Peerless Mountain, Mt. Sheridan, Mt. Sherman, Gemini Peak, Dyer Mountain and White Ridge. Great day.

Very last minute decision. I heard about the Lyrid meteor shower and thought I might car camp, watch the show, and get a peak or two in. Didn't see a single meteor! But did summit Peerless, Sheridan, Sherman, and White Ridge.
