I took a visit to the UC Berkeley Bancroft Library archives the other day to take a look at old peak registers that have been archived there. This is so much fun! I saw the note from the first ascent of Mt. Goddard in 1876, and from the early ascents of Tyndall in the late 1800's. Very cool!

Any recommendations? South Bay preferably. I (my body) have been feeling unbelievably out of alignment for the past 12 months or so... Stretching does not help. am hoping I get some useful tips before this thread gets out of control and moved to P&P...

I'm hoping to get on these routes next week. Does anyone have any recent beta? Also, what are the preferred descents? It looks like downclimb + rappels down the route for U-Notch and traverse the ridge towards Sill for V-Notch. Any suggestions on strategy? Can I get away with one rope, or do I need two for the rappels on U-Notch? Thanks!

Anyone been on Telescope Peak recently? Looks like it could be a nice time of the year to go. Just wondering what condition the road is in right now since it varies quite a bit. No significant rain yet, so I'm hoping not too bad?

Since the White Mt. site is down, I have no idea where to go to get recent historical weather data for the Sierra (or it's proxy). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'd like to know how cold it really felt out there this w/e!
