Gore Range/Eiseman Hut Dec 13-14-Invitation

by Scott » Tue Dec 02, 2014 2:38 pm

Looks like there's still plenty of space left at the Eiseman Hut for that weekend.

Does anyone want to climb peak 12,180 in the Gores (I'm not sure of it's unofficial name) and stay in Eiseman Hut? There should be some really spectacular views from up there. It be nice to have a few more people along in case there is any trailbreaking.

The huts go for $33 a person and are equipped with stoves and beds and are a good introduction to winter conditions mountaineering.

Here's a photograph I took from Wingle Ridge looking into the area that Eiseman Hut is located:

Peak 12,180 is fairly gentle and should have a route up via the west ridge with low avalanche danger. The peak will provide some good views of the most rugged area of the Gore Range.

Hi Scott,

I'm interested and available on those dates. It'll be my first tour this season, but I think Eiseman's the right mark to start out with. I've probably a dozen tours under my belt since my AIARE 1.

Cheers,
Pete

I made that post four years ago; so the trip has long passed. I guess this section has been slow lately.

Maybe we can do another climb though.
