Another view. The mountain we are looking for is the light colored one in the back.

Time for a more explicit location clue...

This is not too far away (~50 km):

Hm, Austria, almost sure.
SQ7.jpg reminds me a lot the views to the Zillertaler area through which I once drove by car.

No it is further away from Sojernspitze. I would say it's about as far from Sojernspitze as from the location of the last clue. Time to start drawing circles on the map!

I'll refine the rollercoaster clue when I get the chance, but I'm not in a position to add clues right now unfortunately.

OK not too much action going on here. I can take questions if you like. If nobody replies by tonight I will also refine the distance to the Soiernspitze, leaving only two possible locations on earth :) (provided that you recognize the other location)

Barrys, you are the winner! Tell me how you found it? This will improve the future clueing process ;)

In any case, #92 is yours!

The answer was the Muttekopf (2774m), near Imst in Tirol.

It is not on SP yet, but I might add a page as I have climbed it 2.5 times already. It's the highest mountain in its range and a pretty prominent view from Imst, I expected it to be reasonably well known. It's nearby neighbour, the Maldonkopf is on SP, and its page has a nice picture of the Muttekopf too. Other related links: the Muttekopf hut, and Wikipedia, some interesting information on the geology (special for visentin ;))

The clues were:

Rollercoaster: On the lower slopes there is the "Alpine Coaster", a metal luge track and a very fun way to travel the last section downhill of your Muttekopf climb. If you googled "alpine coaster" or along these lines you could quickly have found it.

The golden roof: The most famous landmark of Innsbruck, the capitol of Tirol. Even if you didn't know it, googling "golden roof" would quickly lead you to this particular one. According to google earth it was 56,05 km from the Muttekopf summit. Now all you had to do was search a circle of this radius around the roof... ;)

Thanks, a bit too technical for me. To be honest I only enjoy a basic understanding of the landscapes I see. Rolled and twisted layered limestone landscapes are always something beautiful to watch. Muttekopf looks nice, an idea for the future, who knows when I go to the Alps !

The clues worked pretty much as you intended. Living where I live I am familer with Alpine coasters. I knew the golden roof was in Innsbruck already and your 50km hint and a simple google search of alpine coasters in or around the Inn valley led to Imst. After that it was a motorway looking road tracking the flow of the river in one of the photos that gave away the location relative to Imst. I'll try and get the next one started soon!
