Long way from the Pamirs, though the Pamirs would be roughly half way between it and the Arabian sea.

Among the clues were an Airbus A300-600ST Beluga
The mountain is the highest in the UNesco world heritage site named 'The golden mountains of Altai' (Altai meaning golden mountains in local language) in the federal Russian Republic of Altai.

If Gangolfs map didn't give it away then my last clue was going to.
