Nick and I went to Tomyhoi Peak Sunday/Monday for a attempt again on this familiar mountain. Snow most of the way. We made it to the main summit base, but to tricky for us to negotiate the last few hundred feet on snow, ice over rock. Been there a few times, but not in these conditions, no gear. Chicken psyche took over. Bivied at the only bare flat ground at base of Yellow Aster Butte by Tarns still froze. Great trip, no summit. Could post trip later? We could see clear to Rainier.
