Thanks for the update Pavel and Jeannine. I'm really glad Rob's doing better. I'll visit some time this weekend. Is anybody going to be around?

Lolli, if you call again, before they transfer you try asking if anybody is in his room to answer the call for him. Like it was said, he may not be able to reach the phone on his own. I'm sure it would be a nice surprise for him

Yep! Your Llama made the trip from Modesto to Santa Clara safely. She is sitting on his window-sill, next to the other llama. He has a great view out his window by the way. Not sure about the cards though.

Lolli: I stopped by the hospital again, and it seems the phone has been off the hook for awhile, so that could be why there was no answer. He has the phone on his table, so it is within easy reach now.

Regarding the phone in Rob's room, last night Rob said he thought the ringer on the phone wasn't working properly and it simply wasn't ringing when someone called. He seemed much more chipper on the phone last night and, like Jeannine mentioned, was busy cracking jokes! :o

I just visited Rob's new digs. He is settling in nicely. They have a fairly busy schedule (physical therapy, etc.) laid out for him almost every day. Typically, it starts at 10:30am and ends at 5pm with a 1.5 hour break for lunch between 11:30am and 1pm. So, lunch visitations or after 5pm would probably be best. Rob is very grateful for all the support he is getting from his SP friends. Lolli - your call made a lasting impression! Way to go all and please keep it up!

I wonder if Rob realizes that with almost 14,000 hits this thread has received, he directly competes with threads like "BEER" and "Bad jokes". He still has long ways to go if he wants to catch up with "Wino's unite", but considering it's been only 2 weeks..... You got a lot of support here Rob. Way to go!

I am quite sure that Rob will be able to look back at all of this in the future, probably at the top of some cool peak or wall, and talk of it as a great battle wound story. He obviously has the required perseverence and resiliency. Maybe even thanks to his Llamas. He is highly commendable for putting his own life ahead of the animal's.

I wish him a full recovery, and it looks like he is already on his way there...

ps; broken stuff isn't that bad, it's the missing stuff you gotta watch out for :-)
