Not boring

There are people here on SP who consider photos about mountain flora boring. But how can be this Physoplexis comosa boring??

Re: Not boring

Hi Szani!

You are absolutely right! Mountain flora is by far the most beautiful decoration of mountains. What a diversity of colours, shape and ways of surviving!

By the way - you made a nice page about Speikkogel. As I mentioned on my Grosser Speikkofel page (Nockberge) even a not so appealing valeriana celtica (speik - http://www.biosphaerenparknockberge.at/natur-kultur/pflanzenwelt/blumen/echter-speik.html) can be the reason to name, as you said, a dozen of mountains.

Cheers!

Re: Not boring

Hi Vid,

Thanks for the appreciation on my page, and also thank you for the tip on the name of Speikkogel. I didn't know it, but now I inserted this info into my page.

A comment to your Lavanttal page: there you consider Speikkogel as the higest summit of Gleinalpe (similarly to many other sources). But Gleinalpe has a higher summit: Lenzmoarkogel. In the future I will create a page about it, too.

I bagged for a free Saturday from my wife. I received permission, so on the 3rd August I will climb Grintovec (and perhaps Jezerska Kocna, too, if I will be not too tired) from north on normal routes, dedicating the whole Saturday for this. There is no mathematical chance that you plan something similar - but don't you?

Cheers, Szani

Re: Not boring

Hi Szani,

great that you are coming here, in our mountains! Yes it would be nice to meet you, but tomorrow with my wife we are leaving on vacations. We'll be wandering somewhere across Switzerland, don't know yet where.

Have a great trip to Kočna and Grintovec! I was on Grintovec just a week ago - always nice there.

Cheers!

Re: Not boring

Then have a nice holiday in Switzerland!
On normal routes on the north side (via Ceska koca, Mlinarsko sedlo and Dolska skrbina) in good dry weather should I take via ferrata set and/or helmet with me?

Re: Not boring

Aw! You're asking me a question where I must answer differently than I behave :(

With Jasmina we don't even have a ferrata set, so that one is probably not required - depends more on you, but Kremzar route is not difficult. Regarding a helmet - if you are used to it, take it. I would never forgive myself if by some odd mathematical chance you would get a stone on your head. And it's crumbly terrain and many people there.

Finally - you probably read my description - doing in one day Kocna and Grintovec via Ceska koca (so, down from the parking place) means a lot of altitude difference. In any case go up by Kremzar route, so on Dolska skrbina. Going down there on a round tour would not be wise.

Cheers!

Re: Not boring

Thanks for the advices: you confirmed my original thoughts: no ferrata set but yes for helmet (for any chance). Also thanks for your advice on the route: I will do it so. Yes, the altitude difference is big: 1600 m for Grintovec, so I am not sure that I will want to add the extra effort for Kocna. But I will have a whole day - 13 hours - that is very long. I will see it. Cheers, Szani
