West Ridge Solo
Soloed West Ridge with Dom before hiking out from Appleby camp. Did the two summit raps on the descent and downclimbed the rest. Amazing!

West ridge
Mostly much easier than 5.4, though with quite a bit of exposure in a couple of places. Approached via the Bugaboo Glacier rather than the Vowell, since Bugaboo-Snowpatch col was a disaster, and had to do a bit of crevasse avoidance. A fun scramble overall. Trip report.
On a 40% chance of t-storms in the afternoon we got up and hiked up to it by 7:30am or so. Soloed the route in about 40 minutes to the summit and back down. Saw a bunch of roped guided groups get screwed by the rain. Was our first climb in the Bugs. Great outing.

Simul-Climbed the West Ridge along with many other folks.
Could this be the best 5.4 in all of North America?

West Ridge
Climbed the west ridge on my first day in the Bugs. Fun route with great weather. We spent several hours on the summit taking in our surroundings.

West Ridge
This is a hard route to beat for pure fun, easy climbing. We soloed the route from the base of the ridge in about 40 minutes after climbing the Kain Route earlier in the day. Even if you climb harder, don't overlook this one!
What an awesome place! Adrian and I ran up and down in a day- I can't recall what the rush was. During my year and a half 'sabbatical'. Thanks Ade.

W Ridge
Did the West Ridge with Brian (dunsum) as a quick solo. Some Scotsmen made fun of us for bringing our climbing shoes on the route, but as they pitched out the 5.4 ridge in their mountaineering boots, I think we had the last laugh.

Fun on the Pigeon Spire
It was an incredible sunny day. It's a solid climb, on trusty granite. Nice drops, and beautiful views.

Fantastic climb! My sons Christoph & Alexander joined on this epic climb. Our guides from Canadian Mountain Holidays showed us the way and made this one of the most enjoyable climbs. Spectacular scenery, the solid black granite as dramatic contrast to the surrounding glaciers. The weather was perfect for photos!
Highly recommended for anyone venturing into the dramatic spires of the Bugaboos!

best 5.4 on the planetAWESOME CLIMB. One of the best to date. Getting to the col, between snowpatch, and buguboo spires proved to be very interesting.
