Pike Peak Ascent
Unusual storm came through. Lightning, freezing rain and snow. My hands have never been so cold. Completed the ascent in 3:18.

bottomless pit
Great snow route. Camped at Barr and went up through bottomless pit, Y coulior route. Had a hamburger on top and glisaded down the trail side back to Barr. Was an awesome day aside from some blisters on the way out from Barr.

Barr Trail
Beautiful hike with perfect weather. Over 7,000 gain, but well worth the effort. Hiked with Steve, Hootie, and HM. Cheated and took the train down.
We took the Tahoe method. We also tagged Devil's Playground.

Crags
After reaching the top on car and train this was my first time hiking up. Took the Crags trail up, no issues along the way. Unique look along the way - only bikes were allowed on the road today.

With a legend
Hiked up from the Crags with an 81-years young friend. Beautiful blue skies.
The road is being resurfaced thus we encountered a ton of heavy construction equip. at 13K or so, and a guy who had driven his brand new Subaru straight into a ditch. Highly entertaining and a good day all around.

Northeast ridge
Continued my pursuit of climbing Pikes in every month via a variety of routes. Did the northeast ridge with an approach from Cascade via the Heizer Trail. The northeast ridge is plenty of fun, with lots of class 3 and 4 scrambling. We left Barr Trail at around 12700 feet. Some towers cannot be climbed without a rope. Routefinding is tedious though and getting cliffed out is a concern. I hope to put a route page up for this fine option to Barr Trail.

Barr trail
A bit of snow left on top, but not too bad, and the low clouds kept it nice and cool down low. 3h15 from TH sign to summit. Trip report

Y couloir right branch
Finally did the far right branch of the Y on my 4th trip up this fine snow climb.
Great snow climb...topped out and was met by a little old lady who got out of a van and asked me if I knew "you could drive up here you know!" I know...
Not sure of the exact date in July - just guesstimated.

tour of the mountain
went up with Mike, Cary, and Craig to do the Y Coulior. snow was too deep past Barr Camp, so we opted to go above treeline before dropping down and traversing to the N side of the mountain. Short on time, we got suckered into doing what we thought was the most eastern coulior of the N face, which actually dumped us out back on the NE ridge, which we dropped off of to continue climbing the E face over moderate mixed and icy terrain. still didn't get to do the route we wanted, but it made for a unique tour of the mountain. took the train up the following weekend when my buddy was in town only to find a herd of fat tourists who wouldn't leave the concessions.

South ridge
Continued my quest to climb Pikes in every month via as many routes as possible. The south ridge is a very scenic hike with amazing views of The Cirque. The cog and road were closed, so I had the summit to myself for the first time ever!
