Pisgah Ranger District View

A view from the Mountains-to-Sea Trail in the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. This view is right at the spot where I began to bushwhack through the forest to the top of Chestnut Bald, a southern sixer. The Blue Ridge Parkway is directly below in this shot. Silvermine Bald is the mountain in the far left of the photo and Pilot Mountain is the very distinct pointy peak in the center of the photo. The view is looking toward the southeast. (May 10, 2009)
