Route Climbed: normal from Passo Sella road Date Climbed: august 2005
ascent from Sella Road, 1850m. A very cold summer day, with snow falling at the top. Finding a refuge and an antenna just at the top is very very horrible. Very nice massif, huge and moon-like landscape.
This was a beautiful day in summer of 97 with another 10 fellow climbers. The route we chose (can't remember the name) was easy enough for a walk up. We met a few "retired" people with helmets and ropes having the time of their life, with their own instructor. The views were breathtaking, I really love this part of the Alps.
Route Climbed: Normal route (uphill); ferrata to Ref. Boè (downhill) Date Climbed: August 1975
Ascent among the clouds: 15 sec of pano, then storm with hailstone! So I could appreciate fully the presence of a hut (Capanna Fassa, crowded like a bus in the rush hour) built just upon the summit.
Route Climbed: Via Ferrata Cesare Piazetta Date Climbed: June 2001
We started from the WW1 cemetary at 3PM! The ferrata itself was pretty nice, especially the lower vertical section. Fortunately we took crampons, ie axes and headlamps, so it was not a serious problem when the dark has fallen while descending via the snowy normal way.
Route Climbed: Ferrata Piazzetta Date Climbed: august 1996
Actually I was there several times following different ways (Ferrata Piazzata, LichtenfehlserWeg, Ferrata del Vallon, from Sass Pordoi, from Rif. Boe').
The mountain is great., but the fact that it is so crowded in August is sometimes disturbing and worrying (I have seen too many times people not used to the mountains going there as if they were going to the beach doing really dangerous and stupid things). Even if the way from Sass Pordoi is an easy walk , it is always a 3000 mts mountain (and the rocks fall always on the heads!!)
Route Climbed: Val Lasties - Pordoischarte Date Climbed: June 6th 1988
It was before I discovered that mountains can be climbed with ski... June is much too early for this daytrip on foot. Martin and I plodded through the firn snow for many hours. It was a very fine day but I wouldn't do this again this way.
Route Climbed: Via Ferrata Cesare Piazetta Date Climbed: 31 July 2002
Considered one of the most difficult via ferrata. A guarantee for a lot of fun.
In the morning the weather was excellent. It started raining when we headed down from the overcrowded summit, so we turned it into a downhillrun all the way to the Pordoi pass.
A great day in de Dolomites together with Wim and Kurt.
Route Climbed: Lichtenfelser Steig Date Climbed: 9/13/2001
We took the cable railway from Corvara and then the chair lift up to the Vallon area with Rifugio Franz Kostner. Great views of Marmolada and the eastern Dolomites!
On the quite easy via ferrata "Lichtenfelser Steig" we climbed up to the summit of Piz Boè, partly through the snow.
We descended on the trail towards the Pordoi Notch and down to Pordoi Pass.

Route Climbed: Normal way Date Climbed: 27 August 1988 / August 1990First ascend with cold and stormy weather, the last high mountain for my father.
Second ascend during a hike across the Sella-group over regular hiking-trails. Perfect weather in a world of stones.
