Everest/ Lhotse Winter 2017-18

Currently planning an expedition to summit Everest during the winter season of 2017-18 with the additional opportunity to make an attempt on Lhotse less than a week later (4-5 days).


The plan is to have a small team (4-6 team members) of climbers with a proven background in high altitude climbing; as well as, experience in harsh unforgiving weather.


Two route options are being considered:

1) Utilize the standard South Col route since either peak can be reached from Camp IV

2) Traverse Everest via the West Ridge (Hornbein Couloir var.) to South Col to Lhotse and descend the Western Cwm

In either scenario, the plan is to only fix the route as needed as far as Camp II then climb above alpine style.
