Almost made it
With somewhere to get to that evening, I underestimated this trail and the sharp stones afflicting it (specifically the traverse). Got to the south (false) summit but not the real one. Too bad! Was interesting to see the weather coming in from Tropical Storm Rosa, though.

Pleasant Pair
I hiked up Cerro Gordo and Pleasant Mountain on the same pleasant spring day.

2nd Ascent
A rest day after Bear Creek Spire. Pleasant temperatures. The gate is still locked to the (former) DPS A route. I had to drive out on the Swansea road to a place where there was a reasonable pull out that I could turn around in (about a 100 yards from the Public Lands sign), and parked there. Every where else was posted Private Property.

Dayhike with Pleasant Point
Bruno and I parked above the ghost town and hiked up both summits of Cerro Gordo as well as Pleasant Point. I wore my Crocs to the summit of Pleasant.

From the town of Cerro Gordo
With Gimpilator as a combo with Cerro Gordo Peak. The whole area seems to be private property but we had no trouble after asking the caretaker for permission. Seems like a rarely visited peak; only 7 entries in 2014 and we were the first in 2015.

From the Northwest
After driving to the end of the road and hiking to New York Butte and a bunch of other peaks along the Inyo Crest, we stopped on the way back and climbed Pleasant Point from the highpoint of the road northwest of the peak. A pretty quick climb that was only 1 mile RT with 700' gain.

Pleasant
Parked near the intersection of the DPS A route (gate was locked), and the B route. Hiked out from there past the DPS B route parking (I had heard the road was frightful, but it was in good shape and could easily have driven it). We hiked along the road until we were in view of the cabin, and headed up to the ridge via a nice gully. I went left up limestone slabs and ledges, while Karl kept in the gully. We took the A route back, dropping down to the B route road to avoid having to jump the gate.

On way, huffing it to NY Butte
I wanted to check the road for some folks who intended to drive up there. 26.25 miles in 10 hours, should have broken in the shoes (before they broke in my feet).
