Point 5260

As seen from the start of the hike to Coffin Peak. Point 5410, one of the summits of Coffin Peak and the easiest way to approach Coffin, is to the left but not visible here. To follow a slightly longer but more enjoyable and challenging route to Coffin, one involving at least Class 3 scrambling, follow the wash to the left of Point 5260 until it becomes deeper and steeper. Then cross the wash and continue south beneath the ridgeline on your left until you reach the base of the rocky stretch. Then have fun as you scramble your way back north up the ridgeline itself.
