Via Waterfall & Boulder Ridge
When I made it to the meadow, there were no cairns. The GPS coordinates helped. But the trail was a bit overgrown so I had to hunt slightly. The trail was like a game trail...and it never did go between a boulder squeeze or follow any other cairns. Yet the trail was easy enough to follow, I made it to the summit, climbed the rocks, and got fantastic views! This was a surprisingly pleasant summit close to my house.

Waterfall route
I agree that the true highpoint is not the cluster of boulders, but lies a bit north of there. A nice run/hike on a gorgeous day. There is a fairly good climber's trail all the way to the summit.
