With my daughter
Hiked to the fire tower and back with my five-year-old daughter on a perfect May day. It was quite wet and muddy, but she handled the Ranger Trail very well! Her enthusiasm for hiking (and rock climbing) allowed us to make it to the top quickly, and we were rewarded with huge views . Definitely a memorable introduction to the Adirondacks for her.
After we rushed back to the ferry, she was whisked off to gymnastics class and then t-ball practice. Sleeping very soundly as I write this! :-)

New Trail
Hiked up here as #3 fire tower peak of the day. I took the newer, slightly longer, less steep trail to the summit. This trail starts at a trailhead about 1 mile south of the old trail, so there are 2 options or you could do a loop hike. The trail was in great shape and interesting. The views at the summit were awesome with or without the firetower, which could be climbed to just below the cab, which was locked. I have to try the old trail next time!

Crazy winds
Fun short hike and the fire tower is great. The winds were unbelievably strong.

Icey hike
Hiked up with my little sister to end the year right! Very easy with crampons on, without them it would be quite tough. The snow was very icey and there was a decent windchill up at the summit. Easy out and back, very fun.

Nephews first mountain
I took my kids and my Nephew up it at night. It was a nice climb. People were camped at the summit. Looking forward to returning to do some climbing very soon...JW

Quick Hike/Good Views
Nice warm spring day, views from the summit of Lake Champlain were nice. Firetower cab was locked, but is open in the summer. Saw some falcons near the cliffs.

Doing the family thingBig group. Everyone came. Even the grandparents. Had a ball. Kids rode in backpacks. Sunny and nice stiff breeze on top. Good Memories!
