Prayer Cloth and Devils Tower

There are prayer cloths left at many sites around Devils Tower by practitioners of Native American religions. They hold the Tower to be sacred and ask that it not be climbed. The National Park Service asks climbers not to climb in June, around the summer solstice -- a particularly sacred time. May 2010.
