Since my first trip to the Dolomites in 1976 (as a 6 year old boy) I was impressed by this mountain and knew that one day I have to stand on that summit. Four attempts and 35 years later my partner Achim Mierswa and myself finally made it. The route is pretty straight forward and at least in 2011 it was (unfortunately?) well marked with ducks and blazes taking away some of the mysterious aura of this mountain. We solo'ed the entire climb and only used the rope for rapelling the grade III pitch just below the summit.
