Thanks - used this page for my quickie trip from Vegas today.
Andy Zdon's book says of the approach:
"With a good pair of eyes, a rock cairn is visible a couple of hundred yards off the road." Which has the eyes, the cairn or the road?
Haha. Anywho, perhaps the page would benefit by a picture, from the road, of the "correct" saddle.
I saw that mdash might have tried to go over the knife edge. Maybe you could point out the one can go south of the dark limestone pinnacles (in that section, above 6000'?) to avoid going over the edge? I was actually suprised how good was the herd path.

Untitled CommentThanks for adding this peak. I have often looked at the map wondering what climbing Pyramid Peak would be like!

Untitled CommentOutstanding work as usual. Your comment about the west ridge has piqued my interest--I don't remember seeing any TRs on the DPS site about that.

Untitled CommentEnjoyed this page very much. You can really see the dryness. And the heat.(!) Good job!

Untitled CommentI want to do this one too - Maybe in January or February I'll be able to. From the pictures it look like the view is really nice.
Thanks for adding another obscure but classic desert peak.

Untitled CommentNice work, but is it a walk up (class 1) or is there some boulder hopping/hands and knees type stuff (i.e. class 2)?

Untitled CommentExcept for "the route finding is a breeze" part, this is a great resource. It's why I went to Death Valley again. I love it there!
