Leading the CU Hiking Club
Led my first trip with the hiking club. Great bunch of kids! We had a blast and another gorgeous march day. All but two summited and everyone wanted to hike another 14er! I consider that the biggest success.
High winds on upper slopes. Icy crust made skinning difficult without crampons. Good skiing on lower slopes, just before tree line.

Partnered with Axe, Val, Marcus and Rudy for a great day out in the mountains. Sunny in the morning with reasonable weather. A great training climb.

August 15, 2007
Climbed with Old Guide as our annual father and son 14er climb. Clouds rolled in early which kept the heat down as did the light rain we had during our return.
___
Dec 9 2006
Climbed with rkymtn. A predawn alpine start saw us as the second vehicle at the trailhead. The route is well established. The wind really picked up above treeline making the final stretch to the summit cold and brief. It was a beautiful day--cold and sunny.

A long day. The false summits were a let down. I'd love to come up in winter and ski down. Due to a late start we didn't reach the top until sunset. We were glad for the flashlights we brought!

First day off fall. There was about three feet of fresh snow. Great climb. Climbed west ridge in september 2010
The west ridge was my very first 14er when I was 12. I've been back several times since for that route and the Cristo Couloir. I've never reached the summit via the east ridge route although I have descended that way and snowshoed most of it.
3rd time up, via standard route. New highest point for month of December and completed goal of climbing at least one fourteener in each calendar month. Sunny but chilly day.

First in WinterBeautiful day, easy walk up. Should have worn gaiters as the snow was slushy in the afternoon. Slightly windy up top, but perfect day in Winter.

Standard stuff on the standardGreat day, warmer than expected. Only a small snow bank (25 yards or so) near the summit, otherwise I was wishing I had brought trail runners.
