Late season
Maybe two inches of compacted snow on the trail. Brought microspikes and never used them but most others had them on. Chilly on the summit with no wind, but plenty of wind on the ridge up. Was real warm by the time I was back to the parking lot, down to two layers

First 14er (East ridge)
First time climbing a mountain in the Rockies for me. Wanted it to be a 14er and chose Quandary because I went alone & there was still a lot of snow present and Quandary offers limited difficulties in these conditions. Had a fantastic day out. Spotted a coyote, met a lot of climbers on the way and had perfect, sunny weather.

Winter ascent of east ridge
Blasted by wind but enjoyable
Left winter TH at 5:15 am
Took a couple wrong turns in the dark and lost some time, but summitted and made it back to the car at around 10:30.
I had boots and microspikes - no snowshoes, crampons, or ice ax needed since the wind blasts away most of the snow on the ridge, and there was a good boot track through the trees.
First day in Colorado this summer. Coming in from Austin the night before, this was a great starter hike and one I enjoyed a lot. The trail was well marked, and full of people. I did see some mountain goats on the way down.
This was Kai's first 14er. We started at 5:15am and submitted at 8:10am. Beautiful morning, not a cloud in the sky. Calm and sunny on the summit.

Too damn windy. Minor frostbite on the nose is good proof that you made it though.

East Ridge climb and snowboard from summit
Started at the lower trailhead at 5:45 am. It was cold (5 degrees), but it was calm and perfectly clear. I used my MSR snowshoes the whole way up since my snowboard boots have little grip, though otherwise would not have been necessary. Reached the summit at 10:15 am, which was my first 14ner winter ascent. Being early on a Monday morning, there was very low traffic. Only one person passed me going up at about 13K, but he went up and passed me coming down just before the top. I was then fortunate to enjoy the summit by myself and have an early lunch with no one in sight. It was a beautiful sunny day with low winds. I was very impressed with the views, more spectacular than I had expected, and for most of the trail up. I was only able to board down two 100 yard stretches from near the summit. But the slopes near the treeline were epic. Some of the best powder runs I've had outside of resorts. I did see several climbers and skinners as I was coming down. I was back to the car just before 1 pm.

Via West Ridge
Climbed the west ridge & a south facing couloir - not really my favorite peak
via East Ridge with Wasatch Mountain Club group. There were at least 50 people on the summit when we got there, and some hundreds of hikers that day. I can understand with ease of access and nice views/weather that day.

North RidgeMore fun than it looks. Mostly not particularly hard. Couple chimneys in lower part Class 4/5 and then first major tower (but not mandatory).
Summit and parking was VERY busy for a weekday.

Quandary Peak Attempt 1I liked it, the last 1,100 vertical feet were hard, but the first mile was the hardest. Pretty easy otherwise.
