Route Climbed: East ridge Date Climbed: September '04
Hiked with Mike Payne (his 1st 14er).
Also hiked with Michael Preece Feb. 13, 2012, also his first 14er (and in winter to boot!).
Great day, plenty of snow.
Hiked again with Rachel Engel (niece) and Alex Powers July 21, 2016 (their first 14ers too!). Blue bird day. They killed it.
Started with Nicholas (our oldest before heading off to college) July 7, 2022. Unfortunately he had to bail d/t stomach issues, but managed to summit again on another bluebird day.
7/9/11- w/james, climbed inwood arete(5.4) on the north face under the constant threat of thunderstorms which never came to fruition. wasn't as hard as i hoped for, yet it was a great day to start off the alpine tech season.
1/27/08- w/jamie, mike, sarah and dominic, very windy day for a winter summit. nice group outing until 13,100' when sarah and i put our heads and finished off the trial out front. wind break on the summit was a well-deserved treat.
10/16/04- hiked w/ Michelle. this was an easy hike, but didn't have snowshoes which ended up being a problem above 12,500 feet. lots of ice and snow.
Route Climbed: Standard Date Climbed: July 22, 2005
Started at 10:45 because I figured I could get to the top in 2 hours and not have to worry about weather. Couldn't believe how many people were on this mountain. Total time 3 hours.
Route Climbed: East Ridge Date Climbed: May 25, 2003
The peak was still deep with snow in late spring. snowshoes would have made the going much easier. It was a great hike on one of my favorite mountains.>>Oh to be in Summit County!
Route Climbed: East Ridge Date Climbed: July 16, 2005
Excellent hike with beautiful, crisp weather on the way up. The wild flowers seemed to be everywhere. It was wild and windy at the summit as the dark grey clouds moved in around 11:30AM.
Route Climbed: East Ridge Date Climbed: June 8, 2004
First 14er and first ski descent from the exact summit. Could of skinned all the way to the top but my skins are not wide enough so had to hike up. Great view and fun ski.
