West Ear
Climbed the West Ear from the saddle to the south. I did do one rapel of about 100ft from near the summit. Nice climb. I think the summit is just over 6,000ft in elevation and it is nearly 400ft of Class 3,4,5 scrambling.
Route Climbed: West Ear Summit Route Date Climbed: 9/21/2001
Rock Climbing SouthWest Oregon guide says this route is rated 5.4-5.5 but we found it fairly straight forward to climb unroped to the top. Don't forget to take a pencil to sign the summit log in the jar at the top. We found singed paper from the 1960's. Was a great experience. I highly recommend climbing this spire.
