Crowded trail including a tourist group from a bus, a ton of dogs, kids, and the like. Good spot for into to hiking, not a good spot for solitude, maybe better in winter.
30 minutes from the car to the first ledge. The view down to Rattlesnake Lake is amazing. Lots of people, even on a weekday.

Very Enjoyable Hike
After hiking around the West Tiger Mountain area in the early morning, I was still eager to go hiking. The hike to Rattlesnake Ledge, although not very technical, was a nice woodland trail. The views from Rattlesnake Ledge, even from the other "ledge" a short distance further up the mountain, were spectacular (once the fog lifted). It was such a nice hike that I decided to venture further up the mountain...
Again, friends who wanted an easy hike. Not bad for beginners.

Nice lake view
I don't quite remember this one that well because it was a couple of years ago. But I know I had a hard time with it, it was only the second hike I'd done. I thought it was extremely hard, but looking at this from the top of Mt. Si makes me laugh. Just goes to show I've made progress. The lake below this one is very lovely.

Thankgiving
Did this ledge and East Peak (the true summit of Rattlesnake) on Thankgiving Morning as a good burnout before the feast. Great trip and good views from btoht the ledge and the sitting bench on the summit area. Will write a trip report very soon.

nice & easy
I've been up rattlesnake many times. It's a nice hike that doesn't take a lot of time. Good for first-timers.

East Peak
I passed the ledges on the way up to the top of Rattlesnake mtn, another 2.5 miles beyond on the superb trail put in by local volunteers. The top of Rattlesnake is one of Washington's 144 prominence peaks, coming in at #80 with 2520 feet of prominence. Saw only a few others beyond the ledges as I was coming down but past the ledges I met close to 250 heading up (for the ledges) Crazy. No place to be on a weekend.

Still a foot or two of hard snow at East Peak. Does hiking to the Ledge make you a Ledgend?

nice hike
I started out with the intent to go to the top of the ledge, once I got there I was ready for more. I hiked another 6 mile up along the ridge of the mountain, the snow above was pretty deep, we were post-holing to the waist, it was fun exploring. No snow at the Rattlesnake Ledge, it was probably about 500 ft higher up.

Rattlesnake Ridge
Went up to the Ledge and then traversed the ridge and back down the other side. We had to stumble through some clear-cutting and almost got lost, but had a great time.

Summer in Springtime
Took advantage of a 75 degree day in May to get out to Rattlesnake Mtn. Up to the ledges and then left the crowds behind to head up to the East Peak. Still some snow above 3000 ft but it is melting fast.

CrowdedThis is a nice hike if the trail isn't completely full. If it's nice weather and it's the weekend expect HUGE crowds.
