To the true summit and back with Maddie. Went for Rattlesnake because it was snowing on all the other 1-90 peaks, but we still got snowed on. The last views were at the false summit, and it was snow and haze from there. It was a muddy trip down, but the soundtrack of owls was rewarding. Flat tire and Zeeks Pizza on the way home.

Recovery Hike
Hiked up with Heather Anderson one week after crashing my motorcycle. My knee seems to be healing, but it's not perfect yet. I'll try another peak tomorrow.

Fun in the Snow
I hiked this in the snow. I brought my snowshoes, but the snow was frozen along the train and they were not needed unless I stepped off, then I post holed up to my knees. It was snowing and very windy. Good work out or trainer for higher mountains.

I was the only one on top today. The forest is really making a comeback. Hit snow right around the first abandoned road, but no gear was needed. I was a bit surprised the first time the radio inside the locked shed started crackling to life.

This Rattlesnake Had A Bite!!!
A "frostbite", that is... After approximately halfway between Rattlesnake Ledge and the East Peak summit, snow covered the ground from that point forward. I was not amazed at finding snow there, just at the depth of it. At least it was still walkable in my hiking shoes, without sinking. Other people were also making the snowy trek up the mountain, as well.

Via Rattlesnake Lake
I did this in the spring a couple of years back. A nice hike that is convenient to Seattle with the ledges being the primary attraction.
