#8
Did my 8th hike up Rattlesnake Mountain today, 44 minutes RT.
My host job at Tuttle Creek Campgrounds is over on Monday so not sure if I'll get another one in so I pushed hard for a PR today.

Summit #5
This was the first time to drive to the TH instead of hiking from the campground. And as usual I forgot to start the Peakbagger recording at the start. I thought of it part way up but waited until I was on the summit rock so the recording is just the descent. I think it is the best route I've used so far. See my Peakbagger entry for the GPS track.
I don't know how long the trail has been there but there is a very good trail that goes up the draw from the rocks by the road. It doesn't start at the road however, but on the south side, near the end, closest to the mountain. It is marked there.
The trail goes up to the first saddle and then turns right towards the summit, but soon it disappears, although the route is marked. The actual summit is a little ways ways past the tent bivy rock circle.

Early morning warm-up hike from campsite in Alabama Hills
Fun little scramble with an 8-foot high summit boulder that is the actual highpoint
