Rawhide Mountain (NV)

The glass register bottle was contained in the summit cairn shown here. It was interesting to find no snow when we reached the summit but the wind does a good job of keeping many desert summits snow free. The next day we encountered winds of over 60 mph on our next mountain. Some gusts probably hit 70 mph as they about knocked us off the ridges we were using. Yes, the wind can blow in the Nevada mountains. 3-23-12
