South east face
From Hwy 4 between Raymond Meadows creek and Kinney Creek we parked the car and took a two mile short cut cross county to the base of the South east face. From there we climbed one of the chutes and topped out just below the summit on the south west ridge. It was an easy walk up from there. Our descent was off the north east side and back around to the south east face. Looking back on it now a better (shorter) option would have been to just descend the south east face :)

Dayhike
For the first time in years there were clear skies on my birthday and I was lucky enough to have it fall on a Saturday. Great hike with a dip in the lake after the summit, post hike we camped nearby on the forest roads. Car camping is not my favorite but there are some spots it can be a good time and this was one of them. One of the best night skies I’ve been treated to!
From Ebbets Pass. PCT to Pennsylvania Creek, then up Raymond's south face. Followed the ridge SW and went cross country to make a loop, and eventually rejoin the PCT near Eagle Creek.

Took the Tamarack Trail to PCT, once to the peak I traversed at the base to the NW Slope.

From Sunset Lake
Took the PCT then the Raymond Lake trail up to Raymond Lake, then up the very steep slope to the peak, snow in the chutes were a bit iffy due to the steepness, would recommend waiting until later in summer for a cleaner ascent. Had some trouble finding the high point among the rock spires. Advice for future attempts - just aim towards the left as heading up from the lake to avoid needless scrambling over the ridge towers. TR is HERE.

Reynolds and Raymond with dog , round trip from Indian Valley.
Started at the big meadow in Indian Valley at 10AM and headed E toward Reynolds, working into the basin W of the peak, featuring open terrain, some forest, and windy stream chasms. Worked up to the notch N of Reynolds just N of a thumb rock. Dog stayed while I scrambled up the the summit and returned (class 3). We then descended W and contoured N to the pass at the head of Pennsylvania Creek, and then descended to the base of Raymond's SE slope and went up that, went over to the W side and up to Raymond, crossing back over the ridge higher up then to the summit (not quite class 3 -- dog was happy.) We descended back S to where we first topped the ridge, then descended the basin to the W until meeting the Crest Trail, returning the the Wet Meadows TH, and walking the road back to truck, arriving 4PM.
Left from Lower Sunset Lake. Followed the PCT to the turnoff for Raymond Lake and climbed from there. My dog made the summit also. Plenty of clouds made for a nice day of climbing.

Nov. Dayhike
Very nice dayhike, nearly complete snow-free in November! Ascended the SW Ridge from Wet Meadows and descended one of the chutes on the West face. Interesting lenticulars were forming as we left the Hope Valley, maybe winter finally arrived!

Climbed the loose W. face with three others. Descended the even looser SE. face/chute back to the PCT. A long day that probably didn't need to have been that long (originally planning on Reynolds also)

From Raymond Lake
Walked up from Raymond Lake. What is all of this about class 2/3 scrambling? The route I took was mostly class 1, with a little easy class 2 at the end.

Smoky
When reminiscing, we refer to the Mokolumne Wilderness as the Smokey Wilderness because of our experience here. Climbed Camiaca Peak the day before and woke up in the back country the next day to very thick smoke from a fire to the east. It was pretty thick and alarming, so we headed out. Glad we saw the beautiful scenery on the way in.
