Re: Nice...Thanks Sinisa!
Have you been there??

Re: Nice...No, I still hadn't been there. Only route on Cvrsnica I am familiar with is the one from Masna luka to Plocno (actually, the next weekend I'm going - weather permitting - to climb Vran and day after Plocno) and I hope that Vilinac will come into the schedule soon enough. So many mountains, so little time. :)

Re: Nice...Good luck and I wish you the best weather, because I could be there somewhere next weekend again, if weather allows!! :)

InterestingHow did it get it's name? Partisans hiding in the mountains maybe??
justahiker - Jan 23, 2007 8:21 am - Hasn't voted
Re: InterestingThe name is coming from middle age. Hajduci were kind of thieves at that time and they were hiding in mountains and hardly accessible areas. (Hajducka vrata, eng. Rebel's door)
I suppose this translation is not totally correct, but it is closest I found.
So I suppose these "door" is quite older than people usually think.
And most impressive is thing that they are naturaly shaped.

Bosnian Robin Hood?Great pic, Samer. I hope to go to Cvrsnica someday, maybe this summer? Why not together... also again I'm planning Prokletije.
Azrice, samo napred, drzim fige!
Dave, I reckon 'hajduci' were some kind of outlaws who robbed the rich to give the poor, in the Robin Hood style... maybe someone will correct me.
cheers,
kamil

Re: Bosnian Robin Hood? Why not, Kamil?? I would be really glad if we would go together.
Well, Hajduci were generally stealing from everybody and keeping it mostly for themselves... :)
