The ruins of Hrad Revište (SK) are located on the top of wooded hill a hundred meters above Hron river valley in the southeastern extremity of the Vtáčnik mountains in central part of Slovakia. It used to protect old mining route in order to prevent from merchant robbing and in case of emergency to defend former Hungarian territory against Turkish invasions. Nowadays, this national cultural monument preserves the ruins of residential tower, peripheral walls of the southern palace, relatively well advanced fortification with the entrance gate and cylindrical bastion. In 2015 after four years of recovery, the ruins of Revište castle were conserved and opened to a public.
