We approached this from one of the many, many side canyons in the Grand Canyon, I could see it from a ways away and saw that the sun was shining on it. I was able to get there and take some pictures before it was in the shade. If we'd gotten there 30 minutes later I would have missed these opportunities.

It's near the bottom of the Grand Canyon, on the South Kaibab Trail about 6 miles from the Colorado River

Really nice photo! Great light. Sometimes you are on the right spot to catch the light on a great pic.
