Rime covered tree

Rime covered tree

This shot was taken last winter(02/06) on the north side of Mount Baldy summit. There had been a recent storm and this particular tree was covered in rime with a perfect hollow inside. It was to much to resist not to climb inside and have a snack and a photo opportunity. It took a while to post this because I was going to make a trip report but never got around to it. This is a view of the tree from the outsideRime tree

Awesome!

Great shot! Snow does some pretty cool stuff.

Thanks

Thanks! Not much snow this year in so. cal. I had to stare at this one for awhile and imagine a cold wind blowing. I liked your article on the meter vs. the foot. It's funny how some people react to that subject. I find myself using both, "only 20 feet to the top" or "thats a 50 meter pitch" Go figure!

Re: Thanks

I use both too (but I use feet more)…I didn’t know what I was starting when I wrote it…yikes!
