Stunning hike at the end of summer. Accessed from Roberts creek road off of HWY 50. Beautiful drive through a canyon up to a 4x4 trail that goes most of the way to the peak. Got a flat tire in the truck right around where a small creek flows across the road. Bit of a bummer to change it in the heat of the valley and on such a dusty road. Anyways parked at the bottom of a 4x4 road and walked the trail for a bit then hopped off and made my way to the ridge line to climb the rest of the way. 5.7 mile round trip with a few detours to other curiosities around the summit. Beautiful weather not too hot but enough to make the constant breeze pleasant. Only saw a few folks on side by sides on the way there and back.

Frosty experience
Ken Jones and I were able to sneak this one in during a brief weather window that only lasted a couple hours. Our timing was perfect and so was this beautiful mountain area.
