Rock climbing at Sorrueda
There are several routes up these walls, but as my climbing partner Jan had learned the hard way a few days earlier, the spikes of these yucca plants can really hurt! So, any route that starts out directly above it good - who wants to take a lead fall that could end up in this plant?
We happily climbed a little further left of it though: a fine route (UIAA grade V or so if I remember it properly) starts by going up the pillar on the left edge, then higher up it's finishes in the chimney below the chockstone. It's firmly wedged in. Barring volcanic or seismic activity, there is no chance of it coming down anytime soon.
