painful?

looks like that sharp shifting stuff that never really settles down & makes for miserable walking - or am I wrong :) ?

Exactly right. With a backpack it's painful plus. Looks kinda pretty if you're not hiking on it, but otherwise it's the pits. Thanks for checking it out and voting.

Looks like Empire

The peak east of Glacier Pass is Peak 11700+. I was on that peak (just west of Sawtooth Pass). I could be wrong, but my memory of looking at Empire Mtn. from Pk 11,700+ indicates that this is indeed Empire. No big thing, but it caught my eye.
Now that I think about it... When I did Pk 11,700+, it was from Sawtooth Pass, so I could be wrong here, and am looking that peak from the west... oh well, who knows? My claimb was about 25 years ago.
