Climbed the Rostocker Eck from the Essener- and Rostocker hut for acclimatisation. Next day went to the Kursinger hut, to climb Gross Venediger from there.

Direct way from the hut
We spent our usual October long-weekend (Hungarians have a national holiday on 23rd Oct) in the area. We wandted to go to Simonyspitze, but it was in clouds, so we chose Rostocker Eck. As there were fresh snow, we didn't see the path, and finally climbed directly on the shortest way from the hut. It was around UIAA II, but in snow and without rope. On the peak we found the marked path, and used it for descent.

Done in the early morning before the ascent on Simonyspitze. Beautiful view!
