Did these three peaks in a dayhike from the trailhead. Total time was 11:21 hours car to car.
Confused about the redspot on feather.

Up from Merriam-Royce saddle, down NW chute
Slog up from saddle punctuated by the sounds of climbers on Merriam's north buttress. Descended obvious NW chute directly below summit with lots of rockfall potential.
Climbed south slope from Merriam-Royce saddle and descended northwest chute as part of Merriam-Royce-Feather dayhike. These routes are both chossy. 11 hr, 21 min roundtrip from Pine Creek trailhead. Beautiful weather and area!
From Pine Crk. First Merriam, then Royce, then Feather. Continued the next day to Hilgard, Julius Ceasar, then out to Pine Crk again. 2 day trip, 5 peaks.
Route Climbed: Southwest ridge Date Climbed: early october 2004
Climbed southwest ridge from Merriam lake. Enjoyable class 2 , Far better route from this side than the saddle. Summited in about 2 hrs. but had to skip the traverse to Merriam peak when the storm came early. Great view.
Route Climbed: Saddle between Royce and Merriam from the Royce Lakes Date Climbed: Aug 2001
Hiked up cross-coutry from the Honeymoon Lake via Royce Pass. Camped at the 3rd Royce Lake. Climbed the summit together with Jim Clement and Taras Usyk (San Diego, CA) and Jim's dog :-)) A Nice and lonely place.
Route Climbed: Royce Lakes up the Southern saddle Date Climbed: July 20th 2003
Ran the day hike from L Lake across the valley. Approach around the lakes is a little rocky, and definately hot. It was a fun mixture of snow kicking and rock scrambling, but nothing to technical. Views are amazing in all directions from the summit, worth the climb.

From MerriamNot that interesting, but at least the boulders were stable. Not sure which bump was the summit, but I touched both and found a register on neither.

East FaceClimbed a third-class chute on the east face, to the right of the one I believe is described in Secor. Fun climbing throughout.
Didn't see a register on any of the summits, but didn't look too long as lightning was striking over Seven Gables and the wind was heading it my way.
Lots of snow descending from Merriam-Royce col, so I'm glad I toted the ice axe.
