Ruby Mountain-- East Ridge
This is an important photo for someone interested in climbing Ruby; it shows two options for reaching the ridge crest. The way I took was via the cliffs and rock bands on the left, where steep, rotten gullies and pretty good slabs gave some fun, and at times exposed, Class 4 climbing. Another route is via the sandy-colored scree slope to the right of the rock bands. This would be a steep Class 2 route. The ridge itself is a moderately steep Class 2 affair to the false summit (shown at upper right), and then the true summit is a short, easy walk away.
