Before it gott to crowded, 15 year ago, there were 3 other people on the top. Went down on the Slovakian side to the Rysy hut(?) and down to the valley.
In July 2006 I was at Morskie Oko and it's overcrowded, a lot of young people trying to run up and down on paths with a lot of turists that are not familiar with mountans.
A very nice hike to Poland's highest peak. Views of the lake on the way are wonderful.

Long route quickly
I parked my car on the roadside of the road linking Strbské Pleso with Stary Smokovec, where the road crosses the Poprad river. Altitude 1205 meter. I started walking at 5:40 a.m. Up on the peak at 8:15 a.m. Started descending after 15 minutes on the peak. Back to the car at 10:40 a.m. A total 20 km of walking. Good weather with only a few clouds. And only a few people on the way up because of the early morning start.

Great n' Foggy
The hike was great, solid scramble, and a long approach trail.
There were almost no views, the fog was very thick. There was alot of crowds at the summit. It is one of the best peaks, a moderate class, but the great thing, pure solid rock!

From Slovakia
I climbed Rysy in the end of 2003 summer, from Slovakia. The weather was nice, although at the summit it was snowing a little bit.

accident on Vysoka
Climbed Rysy in awesome weather. I had to assist a Polish climber that fell from Vysoka and suffered an broken leg. The rescue team had to carry him height 500 m down to a place where the helicopter could land. Poor guy.
Once it was completely foggy, visibility about 5-10 m. And the second one it was sunny with clouds. Quiet a good hike.

from Lysa Polana to Strbske pleso
Nice ascend from polish side with the descend to slovak side. Gloomy clouds stilled up in the sky and it didn't rain. There is an album from the ascend: http://www.summitpost.org/album/307751/in-steps-of-v-i-lenin-rysy-from-polish-side.html

summer avalanches
Unexpectedly, about a meter of snow felt in the middle of august in Tatras before our ascend. Snow made the ascend very interesting. I picked the packed backpack prepared for voluntary hikers to get it up from chalet at Popradske pleso (1550 m) to chalet below Rysy (2250 m). It weighted 40 kgs. I had difficulties at chains section below the upper chalet, but managed to do it with the reward of free tea with rum. I didn't have own camera, but one polish friend made some photos for us: http://www.summitpost.org/image/13689//member-profile-photo.html, http://www.summitpost.org/image/137532/150343/me-on-the-summit-of-rysy-in.html.

Back again
Nice hike in nice weather from Slovakian side, and I also tried myself as a "sherpa", carrying up 27 liters of mineral water to the chalet from Popradske Pleso - the cup of tea I got in return was maybe the best I've ever had! :)

Rainy climb
Raining heavily till Chata pod Rysmi. I got totally wet. From the hut to the peak the sun came out of the clouds so we reached the top in nice weather and got dry.

Rysy from Slovak side
A great trip at the height of the summer season, with many people enjoying the mountain.
I've been to this beautiful mountain a few times between age 7-10 (middle-late 1980s) with my family (and a throng of other hikers :) ), and again with my dad in 1994 (who was 73 years old then!) - so I have some very fond memories of this place.
